We’ve been around for 20 years, and yet you will not find dust in the world’s largest collection of old teddy bears. Our carousels are turning as boldly as they were on their first day; the dolls with their eventful past want to dance for you and show you their spruced-up houses. Be amazed at the liveliness of contemporary miniatures. Are you interested? We cordially invite you to immerse yourself in our world for free on our anniversary weekend.

4,000 cupcakes for museum fans and passersby
What would a festival be without a culinary attraction? We are setting up a very special tent for you in front of the museum display window, a birthday cake tent. Our three-tier cake consists of 1,100 fine chocolate cupcakes that we would like to share with you. From 10 to 17, a fluffy teddy bear will ensure that you get to enjoy one of the 1,100 delicacies. The diligent bear will be assisted by two swift fellows – they will be distributing another 2,900 birthday cupcakes in the city center. That means 4,000 sophisticated birthday greetings for Basel, exactly 200 chocolate cupcakes for every year that the Spielzeug Welten Museum Basel has been in operation.

Donations for a good cause
Out of gratitude for a great 20 years in Basel, we are supporting the Foundation Pro UKBB (Stiftung Pro Universitäts-Kinderspital beider Basel) with a jubilee donation of 5,000 Swiss francs. Join in and donate something to the foundation, which helps ill children with sustainable recovery projects. In the museum, Steiff’s UKBB teddies are waiting for new bear mommies and daddies. The bear is available for 30 Swiss francs, of which the entire proceeds go to the Foundation Pro UKBB because the production costs are already covered by private donors. We would be very grateful for a donation to the Foundation Pro UKBB via donation boxes in the museum.
