the world of the Museum
Discover different worlds
The Spielzeug Welten Museum Basel (Toy Worlds Museum Basle) expands the reach of its collection several times a year. Special exhibitions on a variety of themes beckon visitors to embark on cultural journeys and draw attention to things that are often little known or unappreciated.
A public tour is offered once a month. It includes the entire Museum and the special exhibition. Workshops and competitions are held in conjunction with the current special exhibitions from the end of October to the beginning of April. Also not to be forgotten is Museums Night in January with its many attractions.
This page offers all the most vital information to make your visit run smoothly. In addition to opening hours and holidays, you will also learn more about discounts, the interactive museum guide, the easiest way to get here, and the assistance available for people with disabilities.
With over 1,000 m2 on four levels, the museum is one of a kind in Europe. It is located at the heart of downtown Basle and houses the largest collection of antique teddy bears in the world, together with carousels, historic dolls, toy grocery shops and schools, dollhouses, and contemporary miniatures.
